7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Central Time. A voter in line at closing may vote.

Absentee / mail-ballot
Any registered voter may vote absentee. A signed original request must be received by the county auditor by 5:00 p.m. Oct. 19, 2026. The request needs the voter’s name, date of birth, address, voter verification number, election, signature, and date. The ballot must be received by 8:00 p.m. Election Day.
Early Voting
ID requirements
Show an Iowa voter ID: an Iowa driver’s license/nonoperator ID, U.S. passport, military or veteran ID, Iowa Voter ID PIN card, or qualifying tribal ID. A voter without ID may have a registered precinct voter attest or cast a provisional ballot and provide proof by the deadline.
In-person absentee voting begins Oct. 14, 2026 and is available through 5:00 p.m. Nov. 2 at the county auditor’s office and any satellite sites offered locally. For more information please visit: https://sos.iowa.gov/voters/absentee-voting
