Absentee / mail-ballot
Any registered voter may request a no-excuse mail-in ballot; the separate absentee ballot category is for qualifying absence, illness, or disability. The county must receive the application by 5:00 p.m. Oct. 27, 2026. The completed ballot must be received by 8:00 p.m. Election Day; postmarks do not count. The application requires PennDOT ID information, the last four SSN digits, or an allowed alternate ID copy.
Early Voting
ID requirements
Most voters do not show ID. ID is required only the first time voting at a particular election district/polling place; acceptable photo or non-photo ID must show the voter’s name, and non-photo ID generally also shows the address.
Pennsylvania does not have a separate statewide early-voting polling period. Once mail ballots are available, voters may apply for, receive, vote, and submit a mail ballot in one visit at the county election office or a county-designated location, generally through the mail-ballot application deadline. County hours and availability vary. For more information please visit: https://www.pa.gov/agencies/vote/voter-support/mail-in-and-absentee-ballot/mail-ballot-before-election-day
