Absentee / mail-ballot
No excuse required. A regular voter’s mail/online/email/fax request generally must reach the municipal clerk by 5:00 p.m. Oct. 29, 2026. A copy of acceptable photo ID is generally required unless already on file or an exemption applies. The voted ballot must reach the municipal clerk by 8:00 p.m. Election Day.
Early Voting
ID requirements
Photo ID is required. Accepted IDs include a qualifying Wisconsin driver’s license/state ID or receipt, U.S. passport, military ID, tribal ID, certain Wisconsin student IDs with enrollment proof, recent naturalization certificate, and Veterans Health ID. A voter without ID may vote provisionally and provide acceptable ID by the statutory deadline.
Municipal clerks set actual dates, sites, and hours. State law permits in-person absentee voting no earlier than Oct. 20, 2026 (14 days before the election) and no later than Nov. 1 (the Sunday before).
